TEMPUR-Pedic® TEMPUR-Rhapsody Breeze w/Advanced Ergo Base Review

Share Link:
Category:Mattresses

Summary:

TEMPUR-Rhapsody Breeze. The bed itself is medium to firm yet very comfortable. For people with limited mobility that is important because it is much easier to turn over and maneuver in the bed due to it being on the firmer side. The foam mattress seems to absorb various points of pressure on the body when in direct contact with the mattress which means our testers were able to lie in one position for a longer period of time without painful pressure on various areas of their body. When you lay down the bed immediately seems to conform to your body, but you don’t experience the feeling of “sinking” into the mattress. The cooling material is tangibly cool to the touch and remained so throughout the night. This feature is especially helpful for anyone with a disability that results in uncontrollable changes in body temperature. Our testers even added an electric blanket during the winter to provide a layer of warmth on top and the mattress still remained cool underneath.

For many people with disabilities or other health-related conditions the features of this bed allow almost endless options to comfort.

The option to elevate your head is excellent for anyone suffering from sleep apnea, reflux, or compromised diaphragm or lungs due to progressive illnesses like IPF or ALS. This also helps to reduce the symptoms and extra exertion on your body needed for breathing and allows for a better, more sound night sleep. In addition, the option to elevate your legs helps with fluid retention around the feet and legs and helps promote better circulation for people with limited mobility.

The advanced ergo base is a must with anyone experiencing any range of disability (back discomfort, diabetes, leg pain, arthritis, IPF, ALS, PD, Reflux, Sleep Apnea etc.)

• Unlimited number of ergonomic rest positions for your TEMPUR-Pedic mattress.
• Wireless remote lets you control movement from the comfort of your bed
• Single button to return mattress to flat position
• Variable height adjustments easily match need/height…this is great feature as mobility needs change

TEMPUR-Pedic does offer a split base to allow each person to individually control their own half of the bed. This is a great option for people who need to have their head elevated or feel elevated for breathing and circulation and still want to co-bed with their spouse or partner.

• Ergo base has memory options so you can pre-set your favorite positions
• Massage feature available to increase circulation (features wave, full body, or just head/foot)
• Keeps the bed aligned to your bed-side table so your bed can work with your existing bedroom furniture
• The ability to use the elevation feature to bring the occupant to an almost full, upright position makes transferring in and out of the bed to a mobility device much easier
• For disabled persons who need a firm, flat surface in working with a physical therapist on ROM (range of motion) exercises this provides a much more comfortable and feasible working surface over trying to lie flat on the ground

Overall, we give this model for its medium-to-firm feel, its excellent adjust-ability, and the addition of the cooling technology 5 out of 5 stars.

Many people with disabilities could benefit from all of the various features offered with this bed. It is more flexible than a true hospital bed and offers more in the way of sizes, features, and comfort. If your doctor prescribes a hospital bed or a bed with the above mentioned features, purchase of this bed could qualify as a medical tax write off (consult your physician and your tax consultant).
