The grounds at the Grand Wailea are elegantly landscaped and cleanly kept. The Grand Wailea’s dazzling water features and peaceful atmosphere offer a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The beachfront resort offers beach side and pool side cabanas with flat ramp-like entrances at almost every turn. The Grand Wailea has a variety of pools its clients can enjoy. Both main pools have access to an aqua lift, allowing disabled clients to enter the pool with ease. The main pool boasts several water slides, a one of a kind water elevator, a rope swing, lazy river, swim up bar and a cave side Jacuzzi. Lifeguards were stationed at various points to ensure safety and assistance for all of its clients. For families looking for an amazing experience for the entire family the Grand Wailea fits the bill from offering children’s activities, relaxing spa options, to more physically adventurous activities like scuba diving, hiking, etc. They have ample flag stone walkways that are wide enough for disabled clients with a scooter or power chair.

The staff at the Grand Wailea was extremely knowledgeable and was proactive in offering assistance. They even looked up a local company that could provide a rental of a beach wheel chair to enable our reviewer to fully enjoy the beach area.

Food- The Grand Wailea restaurants all include accessible entrances and were quite accommodating. You will be pleased to dine on delicious high quality food at any of their excellent restaurants. You’ll enjoy the casual atmosphere of the café, morning buffet breakfast or pool side bistro any time of day, with a variety of options available for a more fine dining experience to conclude your day against the back drop of an amazing sunset.

If you are looking for a fun yet elegant resort for your entire family to enjoy the Grand Wailea fits the bill. Whether you are looking for great shopping, the serenity of the spa, local island adventures, or simply enjoying poolside the Grand Wailea has something to offer for everyone. They offered transportation options to and from the airport that easily accommodated the Pride Mobility Z Chair (portable power wheel chair) used by our reviewer.

Overall, we gave the Grand Wailea 3 out of 5 stars for the end to end experience offering everything you could need or want in one place.

Tips: The cost of food in Hawaii can be very expensive. We recommend looking for restaurants that offer happy hour specials. Nearby the Grand Wailea we recommend the Monkey Pod or Red Robin. If you have trouble walking or are using a wheel chair or a scooter the walkway around the rear of this property may be a challenge for you as there is a lot of older Flagstone walkways.
